National & Local SB Company Highlights

Going green is the newest business trend, however "green-washing" is more the occurrence than actually restructuring and implementing changes. This negatively affects the small businesses that have been in the industry for years. The entry of big-league companies into an industry formerly dominated by small businesses has led to confusion about what is organic and environmentally sustainable and what is not. Looking forward in the future is the next phase of the green movement...actually proving a company is "green" and environmentally sustainable. Here's some food for thought: "Is an organic T-shirt truly green if it's been transported thousands of miles? Is your product less organic if your plastic container is non-biodegradable?" Smart companies will address these questions sooner rather than later in the future to ensure their longevity in the industry.
For the moment, check out the pdf file of the company highlights I've researched that are sustainable and "green". Pangea Organics and Simple Shoes, a division of Deckers, are veterans of the green wave, so check them out and support them!

Great post Crystal.

I really like the PDFs you developed since they offer up the really important points that highlight each company and why I would now be interested in buying from them as opposed to another company.
